New Orleans is have a birthday this year. The 300th. There are different celebrations being held all year, but there are a couple of events on Bastille Day (Friday, July 13th) that I think you should attend.
The Bastille Day/300th Anniversary of New Orleans on Friday, July 13th at NOMA is the 6th Annual BASTILLE DAY FÊTE Celebrating 300 years of French- American friendship.
This one-day festival will take place indoors with an array of featured events such as a live musical performance by local swing band Bon Bon Vivant cooking demonstration by Chris Montero (Executive Chef and Culinary Curator at Café NOMA and Napoleon House), and book signing with Cheryl Wakerhauser, pastry chef and the author of Modern French Pastry. Also guided gallery tours, pop-up shops, food trucks and French-themed kids activities will also be available. Check the event’s website for information.
