Kebab is a wonderful restaurant that I discovered recently. A few friends recommended it quite a while ago, but I finally got around to trying it. It’s super delicious!
Kebab is gaily painted and located in the heart of the Saint Roch neighborhood on Saint Claude. I went for lunch and got it to go. It was a delightful experience. From the friendly greetings when I walked in, to the great To-Go packaging. I ordered what people had recommended I try. The Falafel ($7.50) was excellent and huge. It included hummus and was dressed with pickled cucumber, arugula, kale, spinach, red onions and beets. The Gyro Kebab ($9.50) was made with pork and dressed the same and equally as big and delicious. I enjoyed the Green Salad (sm $4.50 /lg $7.00) included beets, red onion, feta and their killer tumeric dressing. I tried the hummus side with bread (($4.50) and the Belgian Fries (sm $3.50/lg $6.50) served with aioli and ketchup. There was not one disappointment. Oh, and by the way they bake their own bread!
They also serve drinks like Young Coconut ($7.00) as well as beer, wine and cocktails. Their Happy Hour is from 3-5pm.
You can also purchase their homemade sauces ($.50) Home Made hummus, Aioli, Ketchup, Turmeric & Mint dressing, Mustard, Tzatziki and Skhug, a spicy cilantro sauce.
I know it is rare to find a place that’s this satisfying, but they really wowed me. I was helped by a great waitress, met the owner and the cook and they all were informative and entertaining. I will be returning.
