My guests seem to really enjoy this easy french toast. Croissants themselves are flaky and rich in butter. That’s a perfect start to any dish!
Let’s start with the sauce. Mix together in a small pot 1 cup of orange juice, the zest of 1 orange and 1/4 cup sugar. Dissolve over a low flame. Once dissolved , pour a portion of it into another vessel to dissolve 1 TBS of cornstarch. From my experience if you try to mix it directly into the pot and tends to lump. Pour back into pot. Once the mixture has thickened and you are ready to serve, add 1 TBS of butter.
Plan on one croissant per person. Split each in half. For each one ,mix togerther 1 egg, 1/4 cup of milk, and 1/4 tsp of vanilla and cinnimom. Dip croissants into mixture and cook on a griddle or pan that has been greased with a litte butter. They will cook quickly.
Serve with powdered sugar and the orange sauce. ENJOY!
