The French Quarter is known for having the largest concentration of restaurants in the city, and it houses some of the best dining options in New Orleans. One such top-notch establishment is Bayona, which has been serving locals and tourists incredible food for nearly a quarter of a century while housed in a quaint 200-year-old French Quarter cottage.
Local renowned chef Susan Spicer heads up Bayona and leads her team to create a stunning menu that captures the best of a wide spectrum of different cooking styles and cultural influences. She finds inspiration in food from the Mediterranean, Asia, North Africa, India, France, Spain, Italy and all across the United States. She uses fresh local ingredients and bold flavors to craft compelling daily menus that include everything from unbeatable classics to contemporary cooking you have to taste to believe.
Bayona offers both a signature menu and a daily specials menu that rotates regularly to encapsulate the local ingredients available and the inspiration and creativity of the restaurant’s renowned chefs. For starters, you might order Veal Sweetbreads with Lemon Caper or Sherry Mustard Butter from the signature menu or Fried Duck Livers, Pumpkin-Hazelnut Brown Butter, Roasted Acorn Squash Mizuna and Gorgonzola from the sample daily specials menu. Main courses range from Wild Alaskan Salmon with Choucroute and Gewurtztraminer Sauce to LA Legacy Hanger Steak with Roasted Bliss Potatoes, Green Beans and Bourbon Bacon Jam. And for dessert, finish off a delectable meal with Grapefruit Panna Cotta, Toasted Meringue and Cornmeal Cookies or Honey Caramelized Pear with Crème Fraiche, Pear Salad and Candied Walnuts.
Bayona also offers an array of high-quality drinks, including seasonal house cocktails that feature local fruits and herbs, such as the Stormy Morning with Elderflower and Violette Liqeuer on the rocks with champagne. The restaurant also serves a wide selection of wines from across the globe, craft and small batch spirits and local beers.
