NOLA International Beer Fest – Knock Back a Few Cold Ones

Who doesn’t love knocking back a couple of cold ones with buddies on a Saturday afternoon? How about having a selection of more than 150 craft beers for you to sample?

Now in its second year, the New Orleans International Beer Fest will bring together dozens of breweries this Saturday, March 9th. Held this year at Champions Square next door to the Superdome, the fest will showcase beers from across Louisiana and around the world for an afternoon and evening you won’t soon forget.

Breweries from all over the world will be represented at this festival. Local breweries include Abita, Covington, Bayou Teche, Tin Roof, Dixie and NOLA Brewing Co. National brands include Sierra Nevada, Stone, Magic Hat, Brooklyn, Red Hook, Sam Adams, Lazy Magnolia from Mississippi, and more. International breweries are represented by Guinness, Newcastle and Krombacher, among others.

A general admission ticket to the fest gets you a two-ounce souvenir mug that can be used for unlimited sampling of the 150+ craft beers available at booths set up throughout the fest. You’ll also get a full color festival guide, live entertainment, games and access to the World of Sam Adams Tent. At this tent, you can take part in seminars such as Cooking with Beer, Brewing 101 and Pairing Beer and Food.

There are also Designated Driver tickets available for cheaper, which include everything but the souvenir mug and ability to drink. VIP tickets are also available, and they include complimentary food, an hour earlier admission, exclusive beer selections not available to general admission ticket holders and access to the VIP Lounge.

The event was a huge success last year, and with its positioning in Champions Square this year, it stands to be even bigger and better than last year. If you’re a devout beer lover, this is one annual event you won’t want to miss.
