The Columns Hotel and upscale bar stands out among other beautiful mansions lining St. Charles Ave. Just a few blocks away from Southern Comfort B&B, the Columns is a popular destination with its stately and welcoming front porch, the focal point of this establishment.
The white and inviting porch has hosted guests of all ages, from 20-somethings looking to enjoy a couple of happy hour drinks to an older group of friends sharing mimosas on a Sunday morning. Tables and chairs are set up and throughout the large porch, and there is also darker, more intimate and candlelit seating inside.
Their happy hour is a popular attraction, held seven days a week from 5pm to 7pm. Happy hour features $4 house white and red wines and champagne by the glass. Martinis are $5, and well drinks are $3. You can also take $1 off all beer prices.
Dining at the Columns includes their Sunday Jazz Brunch menu served from 11am to 3pm on Sundays, with reservations recommended. The menu includes salads, soups like their chicken and sausage gumbo, crab cakes with fried green tomatoes, pan-seared redfish and eggs benedict, plus peach cobbler and white chocolate bread pudding for dessert.Their bistro menu includes Bistro Bites like a cheese and fruit plate, Crawfish “Monica” Mac and BBQ pork sliders, plus soups and salads. They also offer sandwiches like French Dip and seafood po-boys as well as a build your own burger option. The kitchen is open daily until 10pm.
If you’re looking for entertainment, every weeknight and Saturdays at 8pm, a different musician is featured, including jazz, classical, classic Cajun and more. There is also a musical performance held during Sunday Jazz Brunch.
